Today's technology allows students to be creative procrastinators. When given an assignment, they can simply wait until the last minute, Google the information needed, copy and paste it to Microsoft Word and present the information as their own. Or visit a website that deals in exclusively generating term papers for a small cost. All students have to do is state the topic or task given and, voila, the work is done. Is it me or does students progressive laziness in doing their own work a major disadvantage of technology?

  1. i dont think that students being lazy is a disadvantage to technology , i think that the students are just lazy., as teachers we can help to deter them from this habbit by educating them on the criminal sanctions that are associated with them doing such actions. students must be informed on the implications of plagarism and be exposed to copyright laws etc.

  2. Lazy studets, since the development of technology everyons has become lazy, but the students have taken the use of the internet to another level, they have forgotten how to think, everything they cut and paste from the internet. But a stop can be made to this, we as teacher one, teach them about plagarism and copy right laws, and the sanctions, then if any students prsents a copied assignment, his or her score should be ZERO. do u agree?

  3. Definitely! They get so lazy they find all kinds of excuse why they cannot go to the library to do research. All they do is sit at the computer, cut and paste, and that is it. They do not even read the passage and and paraphrase. I believe it really make them lazy.

  4. Students progressive laziness in doing their own work a major disadvantage of technology, but teachers must penalize them when they do so especially when caught.Make them pay so they will be forced to do their own work and do so on time.
